Exploring characterisation and sequential imaging as narrative
Victor, a meticulous drug dealer with a passion for fine china, prepares for his prestigious annual exhibition. As he meticulously arranges his prized pieces, a bird's sudden intrusion sparks chaos. Fuelled by panic, Victor's reckless actions lead to a futile pursuit, leaving his cherished china shattered. The scene explores themes of consequence, anger, and dark humour, underscored by a shifting musical tone. Blue china symbolises Victor's attachment, contrasting with the black and white animation.

This project was my first project that I used Photoshop for animation and After effects for post production!
Process and storyboarding
Project summary
This project introduces students to the art of storyboarding for film or animation. Storyboards are sequences of images used to pre-visualise and communicate a narrative concept, helping creators plan the visual flow of a motion picture. The project aims to develop a short, character-driven narrative with a set-up, build-up, twist, and pay-off.
Key objectives include conceptualising and developing a sequential narrative, exploring various visual elements, composition, character interaction, action, and storytelling and creating an animatic (animated synthesis) of the final storyboard.
